Leslie starts with a vague idea in mind usually sparked by a story or an image. She sketches out what the sculpture might look like. From there she researches images and anatomies and then develops the supporting armatures for the animals. Then it's all happy stabbing to achieve the look she wants. And hopefully a bit of animal attitude as well.
The nature of the wool sculptures with armatures allow the animals to be posed. However, these are not intended as toys and cannot be recommended for children.
They are three dimensional artistic sculptures
Leslie is a one-woman studio. She is glad to talk to clients about commissions. However, a prospective client must understand the necessity of time required for developing and creating each sculpture. Also, if a specific pet or other animal is being commissioned, Les lie will be relying on the client for supporting photos etc to capture the sculpture's finer points.
